In this three-part tutorial you'll learn how to install and set up JBoss application server, use Seam Generator to build Web applications in a Rails-like manner, and all that inside standard Eclipse IDE.
So it seems like the best of both worlds ;)

very good tutorial for beginners like me, i hope more will come(like for example how to have eclipse with all the plugins you need, like jboss ide and exadel pro, so you can better create big web application).
Although the headline sounded promising, especially the last tutorial is downright silly: Where is seam-gen used in this example?! seam-gen is quite cool to get a frame for your application - but then you can toss it aside (this is, what the tutorial does and this is what my experiences with seam-gen suggest). The reverse-engineering-stuff is cool to setup your data once, but then again: Never use it again, unless you really know what you're doing.
Comparing seam-gen with rails leaves seam-gen ashamed, both in terms of features and in terms of stability: Using seam-gen to produce new artefacts will leave you with all sorts of corrupted files, which you are most likely not able to fix without diving deeper into the seam-gen-templates and builds.
I'm not sure where they are heading with seam-gen: MDD and a including decent DSL (something roughly in the lines of Sculptor, http://www.theserverside.com/tt/articles/article.tss?l=ProductivityWithSculptor) could be worthwile - but for now use it to create a template and then toss it. And the rest is only marketing...
I'm really waiting for the Red Hat Developer Studio to be released with everything setup and integrated inside Eclipse!!
My biggest problem with using Seam right now is I know nothing about JSF. I know Java and have done a few simple webapps. Sure I can learn pretty quick but the time its taking me to get the plugins I want into Eclipse is crazy...
Really useful. This makes it very easy for guys like who are starting with Seam. Maybe you should upgrade to Seam 2.0

Anyone knows how to achieve the same results with Seam 2.0.x examples? I've tried both the original solution and some modifications, but it doesn't deploy properly and tests fail...
JBossTools/RedHatDeveloperStudio doesn't seem to help at all with Seam examples too...
I was trying to run a sample application using JBoss seam with JBoss server.I tried to run tha examples that comes with seam downloads. That also i m not able to cofigure. While building the application there s no exceptions. But when i tried to deploy it lots of exceptions are coming and showing a status as deployment failed. Can any one help me on this?
